Dr Maureen Mason is an integrative Physical Therapist who blends lifestyle medicine programs in patient care. She has a doctorate in physical therapy, and advanced certifications in pelvic therapy and medical yoga.
She is a clinician, mentor, therapist, educator, and author. Her book Pelvic Rehabilitation, The Manual Therapy and Exercise Guide across the Lifespan is embraced by a global audience, including medical providers, movement therapists, and the public, for pelvic literacy and empowerment.

Description
This presentation will expand the nutritional providers’ toolkits in recognizing and treating functional links between digestive and pelvic body systems. The experiential session will include:
- Teaching patients to “say hello” to their GI system with self-mapping
- Training patients in interoception and embodiment for self-care
- Recognizing the glottis to pelvic floor connection
- Recognize mobility checks for the diaphragm and rib cage as pistons for digestion
- Practice gentle lumbar-pelvic hip movements
- Identify pelvic floor muscles and their sphincteric vs relaxation roles
- Recognize why pelvic floor tightening exercises may aggravate IBS
- Recognize inflammation in overactive bladder conditions, and
herbs to soothe the bladder
- Identify 4 key medical protocols to treat and prevent recurrent UTI, including counter supplements and prescriptions
- Recognize oral and vaginal supplements for pelvic health in women
- Identify lifestyle medicine principles associated with sexual health and libido
