In just the past few days, the news surrounding the pandemic in the United States has taken a huge turn.
We have heard from many of you with your valid questions, concerns, feedback and ideas.
And, we want to state that today, and for the past several days – addressing you, our members, our conference attendees, our expo partners and our session speakers has been our number one priority.
That being said, we want to communicate with you in a responsible manner.
The NANP is currently decision-making on two fronts:
- Assessing the situation in its entirety, staying focused on the evidence-based science as well as the state and local mandates we know of thus far.
- Taking a compassionate approach to learning more about how your needs and resources may be changing moment-to-moment.
HEALCon 2020 is scheduled to take place at the end of April. Thankfully, this date approximately 6 weeks out from now, gives us time to make any necessary changes in a thoughtful and creative way.
Right now, it’s all hands on deck at the NANP to make HEALCon an even more powerful force for good.
In the very near future, we will have exact details on what that means, how it impacts you, and we can help you make any necessary changes.
The most important thing we can all remember right now is that as our constituents/clients/consumers of holistic nutrition services, goods and educational resources are looking to all of us for reassurance, there is an opportunity to learn and grow in the moment.
And, to quote Mr. Rogers, “Look for the helpers.”
Let us all be the helpers.
Please join us in being a voice of empathy, authority and reassurance.
Keeping a level head is the best way to continue to move forward.
We encourage each of you – today – to take one small step to move forward in positively serving your communities. Perhaps that means making an extra batch of soup to take to an elderly neighbor, offering to purchase groceries or supplies for a family in need, giving a grocery gift card to someone who has lost their income at this time.
Or it might just mean extending a warm smile, “elbow bump” or kind word to a stranger who is needing a positive boost in the moment.
We are here for you during this time – after all, our members and our partners – are the exact reason why we do what we do.
Thank you for your patience – we will update you again very soon.
